THE ROAD First Movie Pictures with Viggo Mortensen & Charlize Theron
THE ROAD is a movie I’ve been meaning to write about. one of my friends read the book it is based on and loved it. I personally haven’t read it yet, but it’s on my list of must-read books. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I was quite intrigued about the film, especially since it stars Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Robert Duvall.
USA Today released the first photos from the film and it just gives me chills how good it looks. I might have to read that book sooner than expected. (Update: USA Today has now 5 additional pictures that I have added below. I might have to go get that book today after looking at them. How awesome do they look?)
Based on the Pulitzer winning novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy, The Road tells the story of a father and his son traveling across a post-apocaliptic world.
The Road is directed by John Hillcoat and will be released on November 26, 2008.

What do you think of the first photo for “The Road”? Have you read the book? Does it look close to what you had imagined it would?
I read it! (yeah for once!). It’s a little bit overrated I think, but it’s a really good book. I’m more interested by the movie, I’m pretty sure it could be great (even better!). And Viggo!!! I had imagined the kid little more young in my head, but maybe it’s just because the actor look tall on the picture.
You know I still want to read the book before I watch the movie, because I have a feeling that it might explain things a little better. But yes, the movie with Viggo Mortensen is definitely interesting.
A little overrated!? Are you crazy? That book is by far one of the best books ever written. Cormac Mccarthy has an unbelievable grasp of the English language and is a master manipulator the likes of which only come along once in a lifetime. Amazing and emotional is the best way to describe this book. Bravo Mr. McCarthy.
well you guys, i read the book, and i agree its overrated.
[SPOILER] its very sad to think about the fact that viggo mortensen will die in the end…
holy shit epic win
