I wrote about Alfred Molina’s casting as the evil sorcerer a few weeks ago, and now thanks to Just Jared and GossipGirls.com (via /Film) we get our first look at Nicolas Cage as the sorcerer and Jay Baruchel as his apprentice. Teresa Palmer will play Jay Baruchel’s love interest.

I gotta say it’s not what I had in mind when I first heard about it, but I am now getting more and more curious as to what the movie will actually look like.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a live action adaptation of the classic Fantasia story with Mickey Mouse. It is scheduled to be released to theaters on July 16, 2010.
