If you’re eager to find out what this film is all about, read my review here: My fellow staffers have also posted their reviews, you’ll find them all on our website.

Perhaps you should see his other films, Thunderpants (he was 12) and Driving Lessons (done during the break between Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix, came out 2006) and then actually see this. Rupert becomes the character and there is no hint of Ron Weasley. Anyone who says it is has closed off their mind and will be the type who couldn’t see anyone be someone else than the role they are famous for. Rupert will also be starring along side Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt in “Wild Target” later this year.

I’ve also seen this movie at the Belfast Film Festival and believe me, it does not disappoint. It’s eye candy, it’s well acted, and it’s a great story. You have to see it.

Well Rupert is Rupert, not Ron, so i have no problems seeing him in roles like these. Give the guy chance to show what he knows. He wont be playing Ron Weasley forever.
And i know, i can’t wait to see this movie. It looks awesome. 🙂

I’ve seen the movie. I love Ron, but darn it if I’m not READY to see Rupert Grint do other stuff. I mean, HP is almost over, should he crawl under a rock after that? Heck no.

At least we have progress since the days of Macauley Culkin. I remember there was actual public outcry when his character died in “My Girl.”

I don’t recall Joseph Gordon-Levitt having this sort of issue with Mysterious Skin after having done 3rd Rock from the Sun.

I say, bring on Malachy (his character in Cherry Bomb.) And bring on his other film to be released this year, Wild Target.

Thank you guys for all the info about Cherrybomb. I think I’m a little more excited about it now.

Also, I guess I wasn’t clear with what I meant when I said it was weird seeing Rupert Grint in another role. I’m not saying he shouldn’t do it. I think it’s great, all power to him. And if he can break from his image as Ron even better. But as a Harry Potter fan, I just thought it was fun and weird at the same time to see him in a role that was so different.
And that’s why I’m curious to find out if he can pull it off.

Oh and @Tao, I have been meaning to watch Driving Lessons, but never got around to it. I should probably put it on my netflix list. 🙂

You should definitely see Driving Lessons Sandie — it’s a small unpretentious indie, but it’s really well written and the actors are great.
