When she is offered a temporary assignment – in the middle of nowhere – to restructure a manufacturing plant, she jumps at the opportunity, knowing that a big promotion is close at hand. What begins as a straight forward job assignment becomes a life changing experience as Lucy discovers greater meaning in her life and most unexpectedly, the man of her dreams (Harry Connick, Jr.).

Recommendations: I’m always in for a romantic comedy, especially in the comfort of my home. I think New in Town will make a good rental.

Powder Blue

This powerful thriller tells the story of an overwhelmed erotic dancer (Jessica Biel), a grieving husband who has lost his will to live (Forest Whitaker), a terminally ill ex-con (Ray Liotta) and a pathologically shy mortician (Eddie Redmayne). This film movingly chronicles the imperfect lives of people teetering on the edge of despair and the miracles that bring them back. Epiphany’s will be had, truths will be revealed, some hearts will shatter and others will heal. Fear will be overcome by courage, and ultimately in one way or the other, love will be found.
Cast: Forest Whitaker, Jessica Biel, Ray Liotta, Patrick Swayze, Kris Kristofferson, Eddie Redmayne
Director: Timothy Linh Bui
Recommendations: I saw the trailer for Powder Blue not too long ago and have since been intrigued by the movie.

Killshot

The beautiful Carmen Colson (Diane Lane) and her husband Wayne (Thomas Jane) become entangled in a scam with a bumbling, small time con artist (Joseph Gordon Levitt) and his over-the-hill hitman partner the Blackbird (Mickey Rourke). Ultimately, it all comes down to one wife, one husband, two killers…and one lethal killshot.
Cast: Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane, Rosario Dawson, Johnny Knoxville, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lois Smith, Don McManus
Director: John Madden
Recommendations: I hadn’t heard of this before, so I’m going to watch this based solely on the cast.
