How To Make A Million Dollar Easily (THE BOX Movie Trailer)

How to Make a Million Dollar in the easiest way possible?
Well simply push a button. Oh and, one last thing, when you click that button, someone in the world that you do not know dies. This is the premise of the new movie “THE BOX” starring Cameron Diaz, Frank Langella, James Marsden, Gillian Jacobs, Michele Durrett and directed by Richard Kelly (also directed Donnie Darko).
I find this concept amusing as I recently was posed the same question. Would I press a button to get a million dollar if that meant that someone in the world I don’t know would die?
Of course, I said no….for a million dollars. I know how this can sound horrible to some people but I am not pushing a button for just a million dollar. If I am going to be a horrible person, let’s talk about 100 million and we are in business. A million won’t let me do anything of significance. 100 million can allow me to change lives.
The Box will be released to theaters on October 30th, 2009 . Watch the trailer below.
Synopsis: An unhappily married couple receive a small wooden box on their doorstep. At the push of a button, the box brings its bearer instant wealth but also instantly kills someone the bearer doesn’t know.
What would you do? Would you press the button for a million? Or even a 100 million?
I hope I’m not the only one old enough to remember the Outer Limits episode on which this is based… starred Vincent Schiavelli, ringing any bells? I also remember the punchline to this story, which the couple doesn’t find out until AFTER they’ve pushed the button. Schiavelli shows up to collect the button unit, briefcase of money in hand, and assures them that the button unit will be delivered “to someone you don’t… even… know.” I always thought it was one of their better, creepier episodes. But I really don’t see it successfully being turned into a feature-length movie… the episode was 30 minutes long, and barely filled that. Two hours??
I just saw this trailer and it looks like the worst movie ever. So stupid and let’s get real, anyone would push the button and take the million dollars. How they are making this into a thriller I have no idea.
