ALICE IN WONDERLAND Comic Con 2009 Panel

During the ALICE IN WONDERLAND Comic Con 2009 panel, we not only got to see a first look at a special 3-D trailer for Comic Con (3 times), we also got to see Tim Burton in his first Comic Con appearance ever.
While we didn’t learn much more about the film because they are still in the process of finishing it, we did learn that Johnny Depp, who made a brief surprise appearance at the end of the panel, actually designed part of his costume.
We also finally got to see the first concept art for the cat, played by Stephen Fry, which you can see below.

As you can see, it’s definitely in line with the rest of the character concepts we have previously seen. Actually, Tim Burton himself said that the characters look like a freak show, and I have to agree, but in a good way.

I was already really excited for Alice in Wonderland, but now after seeing how amazing the footage looks, this is absolutely one of the movies I am looking forward to the most next year. Alice in Wonderland is scheduled to be released on March 5, 2010.
And one last trivia fact, the song used for the trailer was “Time To Pretend” by MGMT, which fit perfectly with the footage.
