Lionsgate acquired the North American and U.K. distribution rights to The Winning Season, which was at Sundance earlier this year.
I have been a fan of Sam Rockwell for a few years now. He is such an amazing actor, that just knowing he is in a movie makes me want to check it out. Plus the synopsis for The Winning Season sounds like it could be a fun one to watch. However so far, there is no release date for The Winning Season.
The Winning Season Synopsis: From director James C. Strouse (GRACE IS GONE) comes THE WINNING SEASON, starring Sam Rockwell as an adult misfit who is brought on to coach the local girl’s high school basketball team. The film co-stars Emma Roberts (HOTEL FOR DOGS) as Abby, and also stars Rob Corddry (W.), Shareeka Epps (HALF NELSON) and Emily Rios (QUINCEANERA).
