THE VINTNER’S LUCK Movie Trailer & Pictures

Check out the trailer and a couple of pictures from THE VINTNER’S LUCK starring Jérémie Renier, Gaspard Ulliel, Vera Farmiga, Keisha Castle-Hughes, and directed by Niki Caro.
The Vintner’s Luck is part of the Special Presentations lineup at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival.
The movie has a good cast, who all have pretty good resumes, but I’m not too convinced by the trailer. The whole angel part was a little weird.
The Vintner’s Luck Synopsis: Set in early 19th century France The Vintner’s Luck tells the compelling tale of Sobran Jodeau, an ambitious young peasant winemaker and the three loves of his life—his beautiful and passionate wife Celeste, the proudly intellectual baroness Aurora de Valday and Xas, an angel who strikes up an unlikely friendship with Sobran. A fantastical creature with wings that smell of snow, Xas turns out to be an unconventional mentor. Under his guidance Sobran is forced to fathom the nature of love and belief and in the process, grapples with the sensual, the sacred and the profane—all in pursuit of the perfect vintage.

The movie is based on a book of the same title by Elizabeth Knox. (Highly Recommended!!!) I’ve read it and the trailers make me a bit nervous, but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited. 😀
