Alec Baldwin Will Quit Acting In 2012

Alec Baldwin plans to stop acting in 2012. The ’30 Rock’ star plans to retire from the entertainment industry once his ’30 Rock’ contract ends as he no longer has the passion for acting.
The 51-year-old actor said: “I don’t have any interest in acting anymore. I’m not young, but I have time to do something else.” Alec – who is set to co-host next year’s Academy Awards with Steve Martin – also claims his movie career has been a flop because he hasn’t been a huge box-office success. Alec – who has starred in ‘The Departed’ and ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ – told Men’s Journal magazine: “I consider my entire movie career a complete failure. The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that.”
Alec recently revealed he isn’t nervous about hosting the Academy Awards because he believes there are higher expectations on Steve, who has fronted the Oscars before. He quipped: “It is all on Steve. Steve Martin has done this before, while for me it is the first time. All the pressure is on Steve Martin.”
