New DVD Releases for the Week of December 1 2009
Here is a list of the new DVD Releases for the week of January 6 2009, as well as my intentions to buy, rent, watch on TV, or skip (for TV on DVD releases head over to Daemon’s TV):

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
Synopsis: Ben Stiller returns as Larry Daley, the unfortunate night watchman who continues to encounter living and breathing museum exhibits, in this sequel to 2006’s “Night at the Museum.”
Cast: Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Hank Azaria, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Ricky Gervais
Director: Shawn Levy
Recommendations: I haven’t seen this one yet, but since I enjoyed the first one, I’m going to give the sequel a chance. If nothing else, it’ll most likely entertain me for a couple of hours.
Buy it: NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN on Amazon (also available on Blu-ray
)

Paper Heart
Synopsis: PAPER HEART follows Charlyne Yi as she embarks on a quest across America to make a documentary about the one subject she doesn’t fully understand: Love. Cera becomes the object of her affection. Weaving together reality and fantasy, the film combines elements of documentary and traditional storytelling to bring a fresh perspective to the modern romance. PAPER HEART also stars Jake Johnson (Red Belt) who plays the film director documenting Yi’s international journey that includes stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York City, Toronto and Paris.
Cast: Michael Cera, Charlyne Yi
Director: Nicholas Jasenovec
Recommendations: I’ve been meaning to see Paper Heart for a while now, but always missed the opportunity, so it’s definitely on my rental queue.
We also currently have a giveaway for Paper Heart that you guys might want to enter.
Buy it: PAPER HEART on Amazon (also available on Blu-ray
)

Terminator Salvation
Synopsis: In the highly anticipated new installment of The Terminator film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.
Cast: Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, Moon Bloodgood
Director: McG
Recommendations: You could potentially watch this on TV, but I’m putting it as a rental because it’s Terminator and some of you might enjoy the action. But honestly, the movie was a big disappointment for me.
Buy it: TERMINATOR SALVATION on Amazon (also available on Blu-ray
)
