AMC Best Picture Showcase 2010 Oscar Nominees

AMC Best Picture Showcase

AMC Theaters is once again holding its Best Picture Showcase which will take place during 2 Saturdays, February 27th and March 6th, each day showing 5 of the 10 movies nominated for this year’s Best Picture Academy Award. Let’s not forget the perks, AMC will offer you a free large popcorn and unlimited refills, now that’s what I call a good deal. Tickets for the event will go on sale on Friday, February 12, 2010.

In case you’re wondering, the 10 movies nominated this year are: “Avatar,” “The Blind Side,” “District 9,” “An Education,” “The Hurt Locker,” “Inglourious Basterds,” “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire,” “A Serious Man,” “Up,” “Up in the Air.” Since I have seen 8 out of the 10 movies, I won’t be going to the showcase, but I’ll probably find time to watch the last two that I haven’t seen.

Standard Ticketing Options:

- Two-Day Pass – Online: $60
- Two-Day Pass – Box Office: $50
- One-Day Pass (February 27 or March 6) – Online and Box Office: $30

MovieWatcher Ticketing Options:

- Two-Day Pass – Box Office: $40
- One-Day Pass (February 27 or March 6) – Box Office: $25

AMC is also offering a Best Picture Showcase 24-Hour Marathon:

On Saturday, March 6 beginning at 12:01AM, guests in select markets can see all 10 nominees back-to-back in a 24-hour Best Picture Marathon for only $45 (over a $100 value). Of course, you’ll also get a free large popcorn with unlimited refills for the day. AVATAR and UP will be shown in 3D in all 24-hour locations. Available in New York City (Empire 25), Los Angeles (Block 30), Chicago (River East 21), and Washington D.C. (Hoffman Center 22).
