CLASH OF THE TITANS Beats DATE NIGHT

This past weekend, Hollywood was holding its breath and placing bets on which movie was going to end up #1 at the Box Office. The contenders for the top spot were CLASH OF THE TITANS starring Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson and DATE NIGHT starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell. Clash of The Titans came on top with $26.6 million with Date Night being a close second at $25.2 million.
I can’t say that I care too much about these kinds of numbers in general, especially in cases like these where the movies are so different from each other. I do however remain fascinated at how Hollywood is always creating fake drama around things like box office placement when 99% of America couldn’t care less. Let’s be honest, the only reason they want Clash Of The Titans to remain at #1 is for marketing purposes; adding “The #1 Movie in America” in every TV spot is better than “The #1 Movie in America Cos There is Really Nothing Else Showing”.
What do you think? Do you care if a movie is the “The #1 Movie in America”? Share your thoughts below.
