CROSSED: From Hardcore Comic To Hardcore Movie

Post-apocalyptic film titles have been popular since the second Mad Max movie hit theaters in the United States. Marvel and DC have proven that there is a market for super hero films. Kick Ass showed that comics from independent presses and independent film makers can make it to the big screen. All of these events have contributed to CROSSED, a post-apocalyptic horror comic book taking the same route to the movie theaters.
According to Variety, there is an effort to independtly finance and produce Crossed in hopes of finding a distributor after the fact. Garth who wrote the original story also penned the movie script.
Crossed features the post-apocalyptic horror world where most people have been infected and turned into murderous blood thirsty psychopaths and a small group of survivors try to navigate through that.
I have read the comic book and I have to say that it is intense. It is a mix between a zombie story and slasher movie. Think Dawn of The Dead meets The Hills Have eyes. Depending on the production value and the script that actually comes out of this, this might work out to be a profitable venture.
