LE MAGAZIN DES SUICIDES (The Suicide Store) Movie Photos

Take a look at some beautiful photos from the new animated French movie LE MAGAZIN DES SUICIDES (translated: The Suicide Store) that Focus on Animation got their hands on. The movie is adapted from Jean Teulé’s novel. Patrice Leconte will direct the film, helped by Arthur Qwak. It was announced that the movie would mix 2D and 3D and would be released early 2012. The story sounds really beautiful and original and I am looking forward to it.
Le magazin des suicides Synopsis: Imagine a store where for ten generations they have been selling anything available to commit suicide. This small mom and pop shop profits from the sadness and somber moods of desperate individuals until a fateful day where a formidable adversary appears: la joie de vivre (aka the joy of life).
Arthur Qwak is no longer part of the project, since 2 years if I’m correct. And he is not involved in the visuals displayed above, they are from Régis Vidal and Florian Thouret, digital artist from Caribara Animation. The movie is currently on production, and still schedule for spring 2012. The technique is 2D with a stereoscopic look, but not 3D, you’ll have to wear those fancy glasses to watch it.
