Wall Street Documentary INSIDE JOB To Air At Cannes Film Festival

Sony Pictures Classics plans to release a documentary about the global financial crisis at the Cannes Film Festival this year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Matt Damon narrates the film which will be shown at a special screening for films that are not involved in the competition.
Political pundits have blamed politicians for the crisis that resulted in the Great Recession, but the causes of the Great Recession that followed the collapse and near collapse of several large banking financial firms. Charles Ferguson directed the project and Christina Weiss Lurie served as an executive directorial.
Sony Pictures Classics became involved in the film a year and a half ago after being approached by Ferguson’s Representative Pictures Company. The documentary is not the only feature SPC will show at the Cannes film festival. They are showing Woody Allen’s “You Will Meet a Tall, Dark Stranger” and Stephen Frears’ Tamara Drewe . These two films compete in the festival for the prizes awarded.
