Alien Prequel Details Revealed

Director Ridley Scott recently let out some details about his anticipated “Alien” prequel.
During an exclusive interview with MTV News, Scott revealed the main character will likely be a woman and the focus of the plot will be to explain the origin of the so-called Space Jockey seen in his 1979 classic “Alien.”
The Space Jockey is the giant skeleton found onboard a stranded ship which appears to have had something exploded from inside its chest. The prequel will be set in the year 2085, 30 years before the events in the original “Alien” take place.
When asked if Sigourney Weaver would be in the movie, Scott pointed the story in the prequel will be taking place before Ellen Ripley, her character in the first film, was even born.
Scott said he hopes to have the “Alien” prequel into theaters by late 2011 or the best date available in 2012.
