THE RING 3 Will Be The RING 3D

The production company Paramount is moving forward with production of the third installment in the RING horror series. The Ring series of horror movies were adapted from a Japanese series of the same name that came out in the late 90s.
According to bloggers from The Hollywood Reporter, the Ring 3 will be produced in 3D and is expected to carry the title “Ring 3D”. The first movie in the franchise was released in 2002 and launched two successful careers. Naomi Watts’ leading role in the movie helped introduce the Australian actress to the American viewing public. Director Gore Verbinski went on to direct the hit trilogy series “Pirates of the Caribbean” for Disney after directing the first “Ring” movie.
The “Ring” movies have been a change of pace at the box office for horror movies, focusing less on gore and blood and more on mental thrillers. The first movie was aimed more at feminine audiences, but early reports suggest the third movie will be more teen-centric. The plot is being kept secret for the time being but the goal is to reinvent the franchise with the third installment.
While no director has signed onto the project yet, writer David Loucka will pen the script for the new “Ring” movie. Loucka most recently wrote the script for the thriller “Dream House” starring Naomi Watts and Daniel Craig that is being shot by Morgan Creek.
