John Schneider is DOONBY
John Schneider, known to TV fans as Bo Duke from “The Dukes of Hazzard” and Jonathan Kent from “Smallville,” among many other roles, has signed to play the title character in the upcoming movie “Doonby.” This film is being described as a modern-day version of “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Schneider will be playing Sam Doonby, a drifter who becomes a bartender in a small Texas town. Doonby seems to be blessed with spectacular good luck, leading his less fortunate neighbors to resent and envy him.
The movie also stars Robert Davi as the town sheriff, as well as Ernie Hudson, Joe Estevez, Jennifer O’Neill, and Jenn Gotzon. It will be written and directed by Peter Mackenzie.
