DON’T QUIT YOUR DAYDREAM Documentary Review

DON’T QUIT YOUR DAYDREAM is a beautiful and honest documentary about two musicians, Clark Stiles and Nathan Khyber, who make up the duo, The Good Listeners, and are not ready to give up on their dreams to become rock stars after hitting 40. They decide to go on a 24-day road trip across the country to record the album on their dreams on the road and document their journey along the way.
Don’t Quit Your Daydream is not your typical documentary in the sense that it feels like you are taking part of this road trip with them and experiencing everything along with them. It is such an inspiring journey that they take to create their dream album and I really enjoyed being part of it.
Along the way they meet some incredible people who help them in the creation of their album. And it’s really fascinating to discover all these talented people all over. Everyone has something to share that is different and original and most of all I think what comes out is the passion inside people. Don’t Quit Your Daydream shows a love that goes beyond money and it’s not everyday that you can see that. It’s really motivating. And fun fact, Adrian Grenier is one of the musicians they record a song with called “Chemtrails.”
But I will say one thing, if nothing else, Don’t Quit Your Daydream is worth watching if only for the music. The songs recorded along the way are absolutely beautiful. In fact, I fell so much in love with them that the first thing I did after watching the film was to buy their album on iTunes. These guys are beyond talented and I hope they continue to put their music out there.
Don’t Quit Your Daydream is a documentary that you should watch if you are in need of inspiration (which I think everyone needs once in a while). It will encourage you to not only keep going, but show you there is a way to make your dreams a reality. And now The Good Listeners can count one more person amongst their fans.
