THE DOUBLE Movie Casts Richard Gere and Topher Grace

Richard Gere and Topher Grace have signed on to star in the upcoming spy thriller “The Double“.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The new spy thriller will be the directorial debut for writer Michael Brandt who has previously teamed with his writing partner, Derek Haas to write “Wanted” and the duo re-wrote “3:10 to Yuma”. Brandt and Haas wrote the script for “The Double” which centers on the murder of a Senator in Washington D.C. by a former Soviet assassin who was believed to be long dead.
Gere will play the role of an ex-CIA operative who spent his career going up against his Soviet counterpart and finds himself teamed up with young FBI agent (Grace) to track down the assassin. The new movie will be produced by Hyde Park-Imagenation Abu Dhabi.
Production on “The Double” will begin in June in Detroit and will be Gere’s first work since appearing in “Brooklyn’s Finest”. Grace is set to appear in “Predators” which was produced by Twentieth Century Fox.
