J.J. Abrams Teams Up With Steven Spielberg For Secret Movie

J.J. Abrams will apparently not only have a chance to pay homage to one of his early influences, but also work with him on the same project. MTV News, citing the blog Vulture, is reporting Abrams will work with filmmaker Steven Spielberg on a film.
Abrams, creator of TV’s “Lost” and director of the “Star Trek” remake, has finished a script reminiscent of Spielberg’s films from the 1970s and 1980s. Abrams reportedly would direct, with Spielberg perhaps acting as executive producer or as advisor.
In typical Abrams fashion no details are known on the project, though it was reported it would concentrate on some personal relationships and how they are impacted by a fantastic event. It is also reportedly planned to be a purposely low-budget effort. Shooting may begin in the fall.
However, neither Spielberg’s company DreamWorks nor Abrams’ employer Paramount admitted knowing about the project.
