90210 Alumn, Jason Priestley, will be directing “Mud Puppy” a film headed by Angel Entertainment and Lexico Productions, according to THR. The multi-talented Monica Hilborn wrote the script for “Mud Puppy.” Telefilm Canada and Corus Entertainment helped put together bankroll development for the film. Product is set to begin in 2011, and there has been no word on who will be cast in the film.
The movie is about romantic playboy fighting his female counterpart, an environmentalist, over ownership over a wine vineyard plagued by frogs. Based on a true story, the romantic comedy is reminiscent of vineyard in British Columbia that was once overtaken by frogs.
Priestley is perfect for the vineyard film, as he is co-host for the celebrity wine-tasting TV series “Hollywood and Vines.” Priestley also co-owns a winery in British Columbia.
Jason Priestley first gained recognition for his role as Brandon Walsh in the television series Beverly Hills, 90210.
