LOST’s Kevin Durand Up for Two Sci-fi Movie Roles

Kevin Durand
Actor Kevin Durand is in negotiations to act in two separate DreamWorks science fiction movies filming this summer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The first movie, titled “I Am Number Four” is based on a young adult novel about nine teenage aliens who escape the destruction of their planet by neighboring enemies and come to hide on earth. The trouble starts when their enemies follow them with a plan of destruction and death. Durand will play the commander of the aliens hunting down the teens.
The second movie scheduled to film directly after “Four” is “Real Steel”. This sci-fi film centers around boxing and has 2,000 pound human-like robots doing battle against each other. In this film, Durand will play a Texas boxing promoter.
Kevin Durand is best known for playing a cold-blooded mercenary on the ABC series “Lost”. “I Am Number Four” is scheduled to begin filming this month, with “Real Steel” filming in June. If the dates can be worked out, Durand will be a very busy actor this summer.
