Noomi Rapace Not Joining US Remake of GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

Noomi Rapace
Noomi Rapace, the star of the Swedish film “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” will not play Lisbeth in the upcoming English adaptation, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Rapace says she doesn’t want to repeat a role she has already completed.
Rapace did go on to say that she hopes the director will look beyond Hollywood’s mega-hit stars to cast the role. Rumored to be in the running for the part are Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan. She feels fame may get in the way of the actress playing the part of Lisbeth Salander correctly.
Currently, Rapace has “Svinalängorna” in post-production and “Clean Out” in production. She is filming “Babycall”.
“Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” will be directed by David Fincher. Rumored male leads include Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and George Clooney.
