Mark Hamill Directorial Debut: BLACK PEARL
Mark Hamill will make his directorial debut with the movie “Black Pearl”.
The movie was written by Hamill along with his cousin, Eric Johnson. They originally planned to make a movie, but when Dark Horse Comics asked for a graphic novel instead, the two complied. Now, through the production company of Berkeley Square Films, the comic book will become a movie. Also credited with taking the comic book to the big screen is Paul Tamasy (Berkeley Square).
The story centers around a guy who saves a woman and then becomes an action-hero, costume and all. The hero, Luther Drake hasn’t been cast yet. Hamill states that casting of Luther is the biggest part of this project, because the movie centers around him.
Hamill is otherwise known as Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” movies. The fifty-eight-year-old has directed a video movie, but this will be his first big screen film. He says that directing has been a life-long dream.
