Orlando Bloom To Play Villain in THE THREE MUSKETEERS
Orlando Bloom has officially joined the cast of the upcoming film “The Three Musketeers“. Bloom will take on a new challenge in his acting career as he plays the bad guy this time around in the Paul W.S. Anderson film.
Bloom joins an ensemble cast for the film which includes James Corden, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz and Milla Jovovich. Bloom will play the arch-nemesis of the musketeers, the Duke of Buckingham. In the tale of the Musketeer’s, Buckingham sleeps with the queen and jump starts the plot. Waltz will play the traditional Musketeer villain Cardinal Richelieu with Mads Mikkelsen also cast as a bad guy.
The movie, which will be shot in 3D, begins filming later this summer and is aiming for a summer 2011 release. In the original musketeers tale, Buckingham plays a small role and it is unknown the role will be expanded in Anderson’s take on the story to accommodate Bloom.
