Jake Abel Officially Cast in I AM NUMBER FOUR

Jake Abel, who starred in “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief“, has signed on to the cast of “I Am Number Four” according to MTV News. The film is an adaptation of a forthcoming novel by the same name, written by James Frey and Jobie Hughes, and will be directed by D.J. Caruso.
The science-fiction story revolves around nine aliens who lived through the destruction of their home planet by a rival alien species. In an attempt to avoid their alien pursuers, the survivors flee to Earth where they blend in with human beings. In the story, Mark James (Abel) is a high school football player who feels a social threat in Number Four, the new kid in school who is played by Alex Pettyfer.
Abel played the role of the protagonist Luke Castellan in “Percy Jackson” and will join an already impressive cast for “Number Four” that includes Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Dianna Agron, Teresa Palmer, and Kevin Durand.
