Film4 Developing SKINS Feature Film

Broadcaster Film4 is developing a feature film adaptation of the UK cult TV series Skin. According to Deadline, Film4 will work jointly with the series producer Company Pictures and Stormdog Films with Isle of Man based CinemaNX also working on the project.
Skins has just finished airing its fourth season in the UK. The series follows a group of teenagers through their final two years of high school and all the dramas they come to face. The young cast changes every two years, with the second set having just completed its run. Another unique feature of the show is that the writers are all 21 years old on average. MTV has given the go ahead for a U.S. version of the show to be set in Baltimore, Maryland. The feature film will feature actors from both versions of the show.
Chris Clough will produce the feature version of Skins and has been planning the film for some time now, but admitted that these things take time to come together. Production will begin in Bristol in September 2010 with an August 2011 release date expected.
Skins is one of the most brilliant series that I have had the pleasure to watch and if you haven’t had the chance to see it yet, do yourself a favor and rent the first three seasons. The series features a brilliant cast of newcomers out of which came Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire), who appeared in the first two seasons of the series along with Nicholas Hoult, whom you might have seen recently in A Single Man and Clash of the Titans.
