Dreamworks Preps a New Heist Movie

After breaking onto the Hollywood scene last year, up and coming screenwriter John Hlavin is at it again having just sold another screenplay to a major studio. According to the LA Times’ 24 Frames, DreamWorks has nabbed the rights to a new action thriller from the little known writer.
Little is known about the plot of Hlavin’s new action film, but it is reportedly an internationally set heist movie. As of now the film has no producers or director attached to the project. Hlavin’s script being picked up by DreamWorks is just the latest in a line of successes for the relative newcomer in Hollywood.
Until making the Black List last year after Warner Bros picked up his Western The Gunslinger, Hlavin was best known for his work on the FX TV series “The Shield”. According to THR, since The Gunslinger was picked up, offers have been rolling in for Hlavin as he has been tapped to work on writing Underworld 4, adapting the comic book Alibi, and writing Panic for rising South American director Fede Alvarez.
