F. Gary Gray To Direct KANE AND LYNCH?
Nu Image and Millennium are apparently very interested in hiring director F. Gary Gray to direct the upcoming feature film adaptation of the video game “Kane and Lynch“. No official offer has been made to Gray yet, but the studio is said to be very interested in acquiring his services.
The studio already has two big stars lined up to play the lead roles in Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx. Gray last directed the surprising box office hit “Law Abiding Citizen” starring Gerard Butler and Foxx. That film grossed over $73 million at the box office last fall. The studio had previously had Simon Crane on board to guide the project, but he parted ways with the studio in May citing creative differences.
The studio and producers, as well as Willis and his brother David Willis, were eager to quickly fill the vacancy in the director’s chair. Gray landed on a short list that included Wayne Kramer (“The Cooler”) and Roger Donaldson (“The Bank Job”), but Gray quickly rose to the forefront.
