Tom Cruise’s Les Grossman To Get Own Movie?

Tom Cruise’s character from the 2008 film “Tropic Thunder” is going to get his own spin off. Cruise made a cameo in “Tropic Thunder” as Les Grossman, a foul mouthed Hollywood producer.
Cruise recently reprised his role of Grossman at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards appearing alongside J-Lo and dancing with the singer. Paramount Pictures and MTV Films are working to put together a film based around the Grossman character that Cruise brought to life in “Tropic Thunder”, though no title or script have been prepared.
Cruise and Ben Stiller are lined up to produce the film with Cruise still in negotiations with Paramount to play Grossman. A film based on the Les Grossman character would be the continuation of a recent trend in Hollywood where scene-stealers earn a spinoff. Recent spin offs include Steve Carell’s “Evan Almighty.” Evan began life as Jim Carrey’s rival newscaster in “Bruce Almighty.” And Russell Brand’s new movie, “Get Him to the Greek,” brings back rock star Aldous Snow from “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” Cruise can next be seen on the big screen in “Knight and Day” which releases at the end of June.
