Angelina Jolie To Play Cleopatra
Angelina Jolie will get her chance to behave like a queen when she plays the role of Cleopatra in an upcoming historical biopic. The film will be based upon the book “Queen of the Nile, Cleopatra: A Life” which has yet to be released.
Jolie will play the role of the Egyptian queen, Cleopatra, who ruled one of history’s greatest civilizations and had a famous lover in Roman politico Mark Antony. Hollywood has made several films about Cleopatra with the most famous film being “Cleopatra,” which hit theaters in 1963 and starred real life husband/wife pair Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton as Cleopatra and Mark Antony.
Little, Brown is publishing the upcoming book and movie producer Scott Rudin (“Julie & Julia,” “No Country for Old Men” and “Doubt”) has obtained the rights to the film.
