CLASH OF THE TITANS 2 Gets Writers

Warner Bros. and Legendary Films have hired two separate writers to work together to pen the script for a sequel to “Clash of the Titans.” Screenwriters Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson have been tapped to work with Warner Bros.’ scribe Greg Berlanti to work on a treatment and then write the screenplay for a sequel.
“Clash of the Titans” grossed more than $486 million at the box office for Warner Bros. and Legendary despite some negative reviews. The film was released in North America on April 2 and less than a month later the two companies decided to begin work on a sequel. Stars Sam Worthington and Gemma Arterton are expected to return for a sequel which would be shot in 3D.
Warner Bros. and Legendary are hoping to hasten the screenwriting process by bringing in two writers to meld ideas into one script. Mazeau is best known for high-octane set pieces while Johnson specializes in dark character pieces. Warner and Legendary hope to have the film ready for release in 2012.
