Jennifer Garner and Nick Nolte Looking To Join ARTHUR

Jennifer Garner and Nick Nolte are both in negotiations to join the cast of the remake of the 1981 comedy “Arthur“. If successful, both actors will join a cast that already includes Russell Brand and Helen Mirren. Jason Winer is directing the film for Warner Bros.
The remake will stick closely to the story of the original film in which a rich, happy drunk must marry a wealthy woman of his mother’s choosing if he wants to keep his inheritance. The situation becomes complicated when he meets a poor girl and falls in love. Brand will play the title role with Mirren playing his mother. Garner will play the role of a wealthy heiress chosen to marry Arthur while Nolte will play her extremely religious father.
Garner last appeared in the romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day” and will make her debut as a producer with the indie film “Butter” which just wrapped up. Nolte’s last appearance came in “The Mysteries of Pittsburgh” and can next be seen in “Warrior,” which comes out on September 17.
