GHOST RIDER 2: Sequel With Nicholas Cage?
Columbia Pictures is in negotiations to add a directing duo to the upcoming “Ghost Rider” sequel as well as secure the return of star Nicolas Cage. Cage is currently in negotiations to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze while directing duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are in early negotiations to join the project, entitled “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.”
In the first film, released in 2007, Cage played a stunt motorcyclist who made a deal with the devil to save a loved one. Blaze’s soul became connected with that of a demon and he was transformed into a flame-skulled demon riding a motorcycle from hell. The plot for the sequel is being tightly guarded and it is not known if any other characters from the first film will return. The first film grossed $230 million worldwide despite poor reviews.
Neveldine and Taylor are most well known for directing “Crank” and “Crank: High Voltage,” and also wrote “Jonah Hex.” Cage will next star in Disney’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”
