Russell Crowe To Become THE EQUALIZER

After mixed results and reviews for “Robin Hood” and a rumor circling the Web that he had died, Russell Crowe has reportedly attached himself to “The Equalizer” to set the record straight. The project, which has been mired in production for years, is based upon the 1980s CBS crime series.
Crowe would play the role of Robert McCall, the mysterious agent made famous in the CBS series. McCall’s background in the series was murky. He once worked for a top secret agency that had him doing shady business. McCall eventually set about righting the wrongs of the persecuted by settling scores for them against those who persecuted them. While some studios have expressed interest in the film, no studio has yet come on board.
Crowe can be seen next in the Paul Haggis thriller “The Next Three Days.” In the film he will play a devoted husband whose wife is wrongly accused of murder.
