Zach Galifianakis First Major Movie as a Fish?

Warner Bros. is currently in negotiations with Zach Galifianakis to play the lead role in a remake of “The Incredible Mr. Limpet.” Don Knotts perfected his wide-eyed, whacko comedy appeal in the original film nearly 50 years ago, and if cast as the star of the remake Galifianakis could propel himself further into the limelight.
Warner Bros. has already hired director and animation guru Kevin Lima to guide the project and is looking to Galifianakis to potentially bring his brand of off-kilter, slack-jawed comedy to the lead role. In the story a man leaves his old life behind when he is transformed into a fish. He heads out to the high seas to disrupt the U-boat maneuvers of the Nazis and in the process falls in love.
Galifianakis has never played the lead role in a film for a big budget studio, but will star alongside Robert Downey Jr. in the upcoming film “Due Date.”
