Miley Cyrus Going Dark in the Thriller WAKE
Disney princess Miley Cyrus is moving away from her sweetheart appearance even further as she tackles a more adult role in the upcoming film “Wake” from Paramount Pictures and MTV Films. The film is based upon the paranormal thriller by the same name that was written by Lisa McMann. The novel “Wake” is the first in a series of a three novels with the sequels entitled “Fade” and “Gone.”
The novels follow the story of Janie, a 17 year old girl who develops an unwanted ability that sees her get dragged into the dreams of strangers. Her ability inevitably leaves her witnessing things she would rather not see and things go from bad to worse when she no longer remains a witness, but becomes a participant.
Cyrus most recently appeared on the big screen as the lead voice in the 2008 Disney animated film “Bolt.” She has also starred “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and “The Last Song” for Disney which combined to gross $230 million worldwide.
