Leonardo DiCaprio To Play J. Edgar Hoover in Upcoming Biopic

Leonardo DiCaprio will be on the right side of the law this time around when he plays J. Edgar Hoover in an upcoming biopic. The film will be directed by an ever evolving Clint Eastwood who has proven his ability behind the camera. “Hoover” is scheduled for a 2012 release.
DiCaprio will take on the challenge of portraying the original leader of the domestic intelligence agency. Hoover was a highly controversial figure. Among the questionable acts from Hoover include abuse of power and the use of illegal methods of evidence gathering. Hoover was the leader of the FBI, and its predecesors, for over 48 years. After Hoover’s departure the FBI put in place regulations that limited the director’s term to 10 years.
DiCaprio most recently appeared on the big screen in his fourth collaboration with Martin Scorsese on the film “Shutter Island.” He will next be seen when “Inception,” from director Christopher Nolan, hits theaters in July.
