ZOMBIELAND Director To Helm BABE IN THE WOODS
Columbia Pictures has acquired a new project for their new favorite director Ruben Fleischer. The studio acquired the rights to the film “Babe in the Woods,” which was written by Mike White, and has handed the project to Fleischer to direct.
The action comedy follows a Midwestern girl in her freshman year at Yale University. The story unfolds throughout as the girl finds herself the target of the New Jersey mob. White rose to prominence on the back of comedies that include “Nacho Libre” and “The School of Rock,” both starring Jack Black. White will have a hand in producing “Babe in the Woods.”
Fleischer jumped into the spotlight with his surprise hit “Zombieland,” which he directed for Columbia. In addition to a sequel for “Zombieland” that has already been picked up, Columbia recently acquired Fleischer’s newest project “30 Minutes or Less.” The film already has Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari and Jesse Eisenberg set to star.
