Carey Mulligan To Play A Teenager in STOKER?
Fox Searchlight has become quite enamored with actress Carey Mulligan, so much so that they are seeking her talents for second film. Mulligan recently starred in the film “Never Let Me Go,” and now the specialty division wants her to star in their upcoming film “Stoker.”
The script for “Stoker” was written by “Prison Break” star Wentworth Miller and tells the story of teenage girl whose estranged uncle comes back into her life after the death of her father. Searchlight is apparently in talks with Jodie Foster to star alongside Mulligan in the film which has attracted Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Productions to produce.
Fox Searchlight films don’t tend to draw big names, in front of or behind the camera, but Scott Free Productions and Foster have been giving the low budget world a go lately. Scott Free Productions worked with Searchlight on the recent relationship comedy “Cyrus.” Foster just recently directed and starred in the low budget dramedy “The Beaver“.
