A handful of actors have recently been cast in Martin Scorcese’s upcoming adventure film “Hugo Cabret.” Five actors in total, including Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Christopher Lee, Frances de la Tour and Richard Griffiths, were just cast in the live action 3-D adventure which began production in London on Tuesday.
The film is an adaptation of the best-selling book “The Invention of Hugo Cabret,” which was written by Brian Selznick and released in 2007. The book earned the Caldecott Medal and a National Book Award for its story about an orphan living in the walls of a Paris train station. Writer John Logan (The Aviator) wrote the screenplay for the film which is being released by Sony in December 2011.
Law joins a star-studded cast that already includes Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz, and Helen McCrory. The movie will be filmed both on location in London and Paris as well as at Shepperton Studios.
