Craig Zobel Tapped to Direct THE LITIGATOR
Writer/director Craig Zobel has been tapped to the direct the upcoming comedy “The Litigator.” Fox Atomic had originally been in charge of the project, but when that division closed in 2009 Fox proper took up the project. Michael Aguilar of Dos Tontos and Mark O’Connor will produce the film which was written by Mike Arnold and Chris Poole.
The comedy film follows a slacker attorney working at his uncle’s high-class law firm. The man finds himself struggling in the deep end when he is tasked with defending a man who has been wrongfully accused of murder. Actor Danny McBride, who is attached to another project from Arnold and Poole, is considered a likely candidate to star in “The Litigator.”
Zobel has several projects in production with other companies. “Loudermilk” is in development at Greasy Entertainment, “Gizmondo” at Contrafilm, and “Monster Safari” is setup with the Jim Henson Co. Arnold and Poole have two projects in the works currently; “Homeschooled” is set up with DreamWorks and “Beaujolais” is in development at Fox.
