Chris Pratt From PARKS AND RECREATION Cast in MONEYBALL

The Columbia Pictures film “Moneyball” has gained another cast member this week as Chris Pratt joins the cast of the baseball film. The movie is an adaptation of Michael Lewis’ 2003 book “Moneyball.”
Pratt will play the role of Scott Hatteberg in the film about the Oakland Athletics franchise in the early 2000s. The story is based upon General Manager Billy Beane’s quest to build a strong franchise without forking over huge sums of money to star players. Hatteberg was a catcher for the Boston Red Sox whose career appeared over after he ruptured a nerve in his elbow and was no longer able to throw a ball. The A’s picked up Hatteberg, who played first base for Oakland and batted as a designated hitter during the team’s 2002 playoff run.
In addition to his role on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” Pratt has appeared in the feature films “Wanted,” “Bride Wars,” and “Jennifer’s Body.” He will next appear in “What’s Your Number?” and “Young Americans.”
