Zac Efron Headlining New Workplace Comedy

Actor Zac Efron is expected to star in and produce a new, untitled comedy that has been picked up by Warner Bros. The workplace comedy comes from Jason Filardi, and Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot are negotiating to have their Offspring Entertainment produce the film.
The team that put together Efron’s “17 Again” is set to work on Filardi’s workplace comedy. That film grossed $136 million at the box office last year and was a big step in helping Efron transition into a more adult acting career. Efron is trying to move beyond his roots in the “High School Musical” films.
Efron will be producing on the upcoming workplace comedy through his new production company, Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Productions. Efron’s manager, Jason Barrett, and former Fox executive Jason Young have come aboard the new company which is set up at Warner Bros. Angie Edgar, formerly of Alchemy, has also joined NWR.
