Johnny Depp and Tim Burton Attached to DARK SHADOWS

Warner Bros. has finally taken a step forward on the film “Dark Shadows” by hiring scribe Seth Grahame-Smith to write the script. The film has been sitting on the shelf at Warner Bros. for three years now with a star, director, and producers already attached.
The film project has Johnny Depp attached to star in and produce the film with Depp’s favored director, Tim Burton, expected to direct the film. In addition to Depp, Richard Zanuck, Christi Dembrowski and David Kennedy are set to produce the project as well. Depp purchased the rights to “Dark Shadows” from Dan Curtis’ estate. Curtis created the vampire soap opera which aired 1,225 episodes on ABC between 1966 and 1971. There remains no official release date for the film.
Grahame-Smith is currently adapting his own novel “Abraham Lincoln: A Vampire Hunter.” The history-horror book was published in March and the film adaptation is set up at Universal with Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov.
