Amy Adams is Janis Joplin in New Biopic
Film producer Wyck Godfrey commented during an interview with website Fearnet that Amy Adams is attached to star as 1960s rocker Janis Joplin in a biopic about the singer. Despite securing the lead role, the project reportedly has a long way to go before it hits theaters.
According to Celebuzz.com the title of the film will be “Joplin: Get it While You Can,” and though Adams is set to star, the rest of the details surrounding the project are a lot fuzzier. The current Joplin project has no studio attached yet and the script has gone through several different drafts. In addition to Adams, the film does have a director set in Fernando Meirelles who has previously directed “City of God.” This project is just the latest attempt to get a Joplin biopic produced, with singer Pink reportedly having been impressive in screen tests for a previous project that never got off the ground.
Adams more recent film credits include roles in “Sunshine Cleaning”, “Doubt” and “Leap Year” (See photo above)
