Warner Bros. Takes On Futuristic Movie WORLD WAR X

Colin Trevorrow’s script for the film “World War X” has been picked up by Warner Bros. and will be produced by Silver Pictures. Alex Heineman and Sean Finegan guided the project into Warner Bros. with the studio leaving oversight to Sarah Schechter and John Ridley.
The premise of the film surrounds a man who is recruited by a government agency to help prevent a future war. The man is tasked with finding and stopping a terrorist who is traveling back and forth through time to shape the future. Joel Silver and Andrew Rona will produce the film with Heineman, Chris Bender, JC Spink, and Jake Weiner all taking roles as executive producers.
“World War X” is the second project from Trevorrow to be picked up so far this year. Earlier in 2010 a project developed by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, an action comedy, was picked up by Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald. Warner’s Silver Pictures is producing the upcoming “Sherlock Holmes” sequel and “Apparition” for the studio giant.
