Batman 3 To Be Shot in IMAX

Cinematographer Wally Pfister and director Christopher Nolan, who recently teamed up on ‘Inception,’ had extensive talks during the pre-production of that film that could have a profound impact when they team up again for ‘Batman 3.’
The pair came to the conclusion that with all the running around involved in ‘Inception,’ using bulky and massive IMAX cameras would not be possible. However, ‘Batman 3’ is not expected to involve as much running around for camera crews, making IMAX cameras a huge possibility. Add to that the fact that neither Pfister nor Nolan is particularly fond of 3D, the odds of the final installment of the ‘Batman’ franchise being shot entirely in IMAX are increasing.
Despite sharing a tempered approach to the ever increasing use of 3D, both Pfister and Nolan admit that any decision regarding the filming of ‘Batman 3’ will also have to include Warner Bros. as the studio is in charge of the film.
