Sam Raimi Signs Deal to Direct SAINT OF SINNERS
Director Sam Raimi has signed on with a group of studios to direct the film ‘Earp: Saints for Sinners.’ The film is a feature adaptation of the graphic novel by the same name written by Matt Cirulnick and Zachary Sherman. Mandeville Films” David Manpearl teamed with Cirulnick to create the graphic novel.
Raimi will produce and direct the film for DreamWorks, Radical Studios, Mandeville Films, and Raimi”s Star Road Entertainment. The story is a modern take on Western hero Wyatt Earp as he fights outlaws in a decimated society”s lone remaining boomtown, Las Vegas. Cirulnick is set to adapt the project for the big screen and executive produce the project, and will also be unveiling project details at the upcoming Comic-Con.
Raimi directed the original ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy but recently backed away from directing the reboot of the franchise. His next project is a feature film adaptation of the video game ‘World of Warcraft.’ He is also in talks to direct ‘Oz: the Great and Powerful,’ which will be a prequel to ‘The Wizard of Oz.’
